Ms. Heather McClelland
Nurse Consultant in Calderdale and Huddersfield in Wt. Yorkshire, UK, Editor of International Emergency Nursing


Ms. McClelland has worked in emergency care for over twenty years in Northern Ireland, Oxford and Leeds, before moving to her current post as Nurse Consultant in Calderdale and Huddersfield in Wt. Yorkshire, UK. She leads both the sepsis and deteriorating patient projects and works clinically across two emergency departments. She is also currently leading a project to implement electronic observations and handover systems throughout the organization.

Ms. McClelland has been the Editor of International Emergency Nursing for the last ten years and worked on the journal since the late 1990’s; IEN is a peer-reviewed journal publishing primary research, reviews and clinical practice papers from across the emergency care field. In the last two years they have doubled their submission rates and will increase their workload to six issues per year. She has also been involved in the creation of a national register of volunteers from the NHS to work in sudden onset humanitarian disasters and has completed deployments in China and the Philippines.
