Dr. Mouaz Al-Mallah is a past president of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC).  He is also the Beverly B. and Daniel C. Arnold Distinguished Chair, the Director of Cardiovascular PET at the Department of Cardiology, Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center. He is also Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell School of Medicine and Professor of Cardiology at the Houston Methodist Academic Institute.

Dr Al-Mallah received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon.  He completed his training at Henry Ford Hospital, Wayne State University, Detroit, MI, Brigham and Women's Hospital - Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. Dr. Al-Mallah has more than 500 published manuscripts and book chapters and received multiple grants from various funding agencies.  He is senior associate editor of journal of nuclear cardiology and associate editor of European Heart Journal and Atherosclerosis

Dr Al-Mallah received many local and international awards including SNMMI CVC council educator award, King Abdullah International Medical Research Center senior researcher award, best teacher award from Houston Methodist DeBakey heart and vascular center for 2020 and 2021 Craig Pratt Excellence in teaching award. ​
