
Prof. Raad Mohiaddin MD, FRCR, FRCP, FESC, PhD, is Professor of Cardiovascular Imaging at the Royal Brompton Hospital and Imperial College London, UK.
After qualifying in medicine and general medical training, Professor Mohiaddin pursued a clinical and academic career in cardiovascular imaging when joining the Royal Brompton Hospital, London in 1984. He has since been concerned with the development and applications of CMR techniques to further understanding of cardiovascular diseases, guide diagnosis and management, and assess prognosis.
His research interest covers a wide spectrum of congenital and acquired cardiovascular conditions and includes pioneering work on quantitative blood flow measurements, vascular wall imaging and arterial wall biophysical properties.
He was twice awarded the William S. Moore award of the ISMRM (1991 and 1993) and the SCMR Gold Medal in 2024.
Professor Mohiaddin is a fellow of the Royal Colleges of Physicians and Radiologists and the European Society of Cardiology. He is a founding member of SCMR and was a Board of Trustees member. He has served on the scientific program committees of numerous scientific and medical societies.
He has over 400 peer review publications, four published textbooks and a long list of invited lectures. He has numerous successful research grant applications, PhD students’ supervision, world-wide collaborations and served as PhD examiner for several prestigious universities.
