Dr. Abdullah Al Alawi is a Senior Consultant Physician at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH) and a transformative leader in medical education. As the Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB), he plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of physicians in Oman.
With a dual fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and the American College of Physicians (FACP), Dr. Al Alawi brings a global perspective to clinical practice and research. He holds a Master of Clinical Epidemiology with Distinction from the University of Newcastle, Australia.
His research interests include Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Hospital Medicine, Rare Medicine, and Medical Education.
A prolific researcher, Dr. Al Alawi has been honored with the National Research Award for two consecutive years (2023 & 2024) and the Best Researcher Award from SQUH. He founded MedResearch Academy, a non-profit initiative dedicated to advancing medical research in Oman and beyond through open education, mentorship, and community service.
