Dr. Mohammad Mahmoud Bakr is currently working as a Senior Consultant Hemato-oncology/HSCT in the National Center for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR), a member of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Doha, Qatar.
Dr. Bakr is the former director of the Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) program in HMC and was on the front line of developing this program. His area of research has focused on leukemia and HSCT and has managed to publish several publications in many leading medical journals including Bone Marrow Transplantation, Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation, and Cancer. He is leading the NCCCR sepsis working committee since 2017 and is an active member of the HMC corporate sepsis steering Committee.
Dr. Bakr obtained his medical degree at Assiut University in Egypt. His residency was at Cairo University Hospitals. He completed his training with fellowships at Cairo University Hospitals in Egypt and Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) in Switzerland, where is also obtained his Master's and Doctorate Degrees. He is an Associate Professor of Medical Oncology in Egypt.
