Terri Stuart-McEwan, RN, BScN, MHS, CHE
Executive Director of the Gattuso

Terri Stuart-McEwan works at the Rapid Diagnostic Centre and Solid Tumour Oncology at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and is cross appointed as an adjunct lecturer at University of Toronto- Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing. She has received her Nursing Diploma (1985), Bachelor of Science in nursing (1995) and Masters in Health Studies (2005). She is a certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Leaders.
As a healthcare leader for the past 30 years across Canada, she has led many initiatives at a local and system level. These include:
• Development and implementation of a “one-stop shop” cancer models
• Cancer Care Ontario Lead for academic and large community hospitals
• Successful implementation of surgical best practices and standards
• Leader of academic cancer diagnostic assessment programs

In 2004 she was appointed by the Ministry of Health Ontario on the Wait Time Strategy as a perioperative coach. In addition she has been an expert panel member for the OHA Surgical Safety Checklist toolkit, ISMP OR Medication Safety Checklist. She has presented and co-authored several studies regarding, innovative models of care, patient safety initiatives and involved in creating several Accreditation Canada Leading Practices; in 2010 creating an innovative ambulatory model of care for women undergoing breast cancer reconstruction and in 2011 at The Gattuso Rapid Diagnostic Centre. Current research is focused on the evaluation of breast and lung cancer diagnostic assessment programs in Ontario.

 She has been involved with UHN’s partnership with Hamad Medical Corporation since 2012. A primary focus of her work with HMC and NCCCR has been on the creation site-specific inter-professional teams in the breast site group at HMC.
