The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated shortages of existing antibiotics, thereby highlighting the need for a new treatment model. CDC marked the 2020 World Antimicrobial Awareness Week on 18 with displays at Doha Festival City and Aspire Zone with slogans to tackle threats to global health from antimicrobial resistance which include anti-viral drugs. The messages also included need for hand hygiene to support COVID-19 prevention.
