More than 300 healthcare professionals are expected to attend Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) sixth annual breast cancer conference, organized by the breast cancer care team at the National Center for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR).

Held under the theme ‘Precision medicine in breast cancer management,’ this year’s conference will take place at the Sheraton Hotel, Doha, from 27 to 28 October.  The conference is devoted exclusively to the use of precision medicine in treating breast cancer, which involves the process of tailoring the care plan of each patient to provide the most effective treatment for their breast cancer.

Researchers, healthcare professionals, and oncology experts from across the globe will hear about the newest therapies in breast cancer treatment. Participants will share updates on reconstructive surgery and discuss translational features of breast cancer research. The term translational refers to the process of moving scientific findings from the laboratory setting into potential treatments for the disease.

Commenting on the event, Dr. Salha Bujassoum Al Bader, Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist from NCCCR and Clinical Lead of the Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Team at HMC said: “It’s a privilege to be engaged in such an immensely important initiative. Our participation in this exciting conference is a testament to HMC’s commitment to providing the best possible care to every one of our patients, every day. This symposium is an excellent forum for discussions amongst healthcare professionals, strengthening cooperation and unified understanding among healthcare providers, breast cancer experts, and professionals dealing with breast health.”

Dr. Al Bader added: “Our services are devoted to helping those affected by breast cancer understand the best treatment options available to them and to help empower women to make the best decisions for their health.”

The conference will also provide companies in the healthcare industry with an opportunity to showcase their products and equipment.
