This eight-bed unit provides care for pregnant patients for management of the following cases:
- Gestational mild Pre-Eclamptic Toxemia (PET) and chronic hypertension at any gestation
- Pregnancy with diabetes
- Intra Uterine Growth Restriction (IUGR)
- Mild hyperemesis Ketone < or equal 2 for rehydration
- Cardiotocography (CTG) monitoring indications
- Administration of all doses of iron infusions and antibiotics for Obstetrics and gynecology patients
- Prolonged pregnancies: for fetal surveillance / plan of delivery
- Pregnant mothers and gynecology patients needing administration of IV antibiotics
- Early Premature Rupture of Membranes (PROM) for full examination
- Elective Cesarean Section cases that fit as per admission criteria to Day Assessment Unit (DAU) will be prepared in DAU and transferred to OB Operating Theater at the same day.
Should additional capacity be required in the maternity units, the Day Assessment Unit can be utilized as discharge lounge for post-natal cases
