- Vital signs checking.
- Performing physical examination of babies.
- Request for laboratory investigation.
- Request for radiology investigation.
- Referral of babies to specific specialties for management and treatment.
- Providing discharge instructions to baby’s mother and family.
- Management of Hyperbilirubinemia (jaundice)
- Management of infants of diabetic mothers
- Prematurity
- Respiratory problem
- Metabolic disorders
- Following up on results of babies’ investigations.
- Referral of babies with abnormal results to Pediatric Emergency
- Receive daily booking list from in-patient units for metabolic screening and schedule the babies for the metabolic screening who discharged < 36 hours from hospital.
- Calling mothers to remind them about metabolic screening appointments and reschedule did not attend babies.
- Coordinate with metabolic screening unit.
- Monitor DNA report of metabolic screening appointments.
- Providing counseling for families who refused the metabolic screening test.
- Providing discharge instructions to baby’s mother and family about next follow up visit
- The team performs the following procedures:
- Immunizations/RSV
- Metabolic screening
- Bilirubin checking
- Phlebotomy
- Umbilical cord care
- Circumcision care
