Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) will participate in the 18th annual forum of the Arab Hospitals Federation (MedHealth 2017) holding in Cairo, Egypt, from 28 February until 1 March 2017.
The two-day forum, being held in conjunction with the 47th meeting of the Executive Board of the Arab Health Ministers Council, is expected to attract hundreds of healthcare leaders and providers from the Arab states to discuss recent healthcare developments in the region.
HMC is participating in the forum at the invitation of the Arab Hospitals Federation for the ninth consecutive year. The forum objective is in line with HMC’s commitment to providing safe, compassionate and effective care to all its patients while remaining abreast of the latest regional and international developments in the healthcare sector.
The forum will feature debates by various Arab health ministers as they meet with attendees and participants. HMC will be participating in a scientific program during the forum, which will include two conferences being held at the same time.
The first conference is a medical conference that will be held under the theme, “Setting Priorities for Meeting the Challenges of Arab Women’s Health: Vision 2030”, while the other conference will focus on health management issues and will be titled: “Transforming Value and Sustaining Impact: The Next Prospectus in Healthcare”.
HMC will also participate in a health and awareness exhibition, which will be organized on the sidelines of the forum.
Mr. Ali Abdulla Al Khater, Chief Communications Officer at HMC and Head of HMC’s delegation to the forum said: "The MedHealth forum is an important regional stage that brings together various Arab health ministers, health leaders and leading healthcare providers in the region. HMC's participation provides an excellent opportunity to highlight the health developments being witnessed in the State of Qatar.”
Mr. Al Khater added: “The forum also provides an opportunity to showcase HMC's services, expansions, achievements and vision for the future. In addition to this, we can share our focus on developing our training, education and clinical services to improve patient care and deliver innovative healthcare solutions, especially with our successful transformation into the first Academic Health System within the Middle East and North Africa region.”
Mr. Mohamad Mubarak Al Noimi, HMC's Chief of Staff and Chief of the Managing Director's Office, and a member of the Executive Board of the Arab Hospitals Federation said HMC’s participation in the event demonstrates its commitment to delivering the safest, most effective and most compassionate care to each and every one of its patients. This aligns with Qatar’s National Health Strategy objective of enhancing the health and wellbeing of the people of Qatar.
“Participating in this annual event is an important part of HMC’s strategy to remain up-to-date with regional and global health sector developments. The forum also allows HMC to convey its vast healthcare experience and to introduce health developments in Qatar."
As 2017 was declared the year for Arab women’s health, the theme for this year’s forum is, “Your Health is Our Priority”. This year’s MedHealth medical conference will highlight various topics related to women's health, with a special focus on non-communicable diseases and plans to reduce the incidence of cancer among women.
The MedHealth forum is organized every year by the Arab Hospitals Federation with the aim of familiarizing participants and attendees with the latest developments in the healthcare sector through a series of specialized lectures and meetings with international experts.
The forum will coincide with an exhibition which will provide an integrated platform to share the latest discoveries and techniques in various medical specialties. The exhibition is expected to attract clinicians, distributors, manufacturers and healthcare service agencies from the Arab states.
