Doha, 25 June 2023: Hamad Medical Corporation and His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani Hospital in the Gaza Strip signed a twinning agreement to enhance medical efforts and cooperation and develop healthcare in the Gaza Strip.
Mr. Nasser Al-Naimi, HMC’s Deputy Chief of Quality Director of the Center for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement (CPESE) and the Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute (HHQI) explained that through this collaborative partnership, both CPESE and HHQI will be major providers of capacity building programs at His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani Hospital in Gaza.
He added that, based on this agreement, Her Excellency Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, called for the need to support the health sector in the Gaza Strip to strengthen the infrastructure, improve medical services, train and qualify medical personnel, as well as promote health awareness and education.
Mr. Al Naimi indicated that the efforts of CPESE are based on providing the foundations and practices of patient-centered care and applying them in the hospital culture, in addition to focusing the efforts of HHQI are on providing programs dedicated to quality and disease safety to support healthcare personnel in providing high-quality care according to specific needs.
Mr. Al Naimi stated that a virtual training program on the principles of quality and patient safety will be held by the trainers of the Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute on a virtual platform to improve the skills and strengthen the capabilities of the medical staff at His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani Hospital.
At the end of his statement, he emphasized that these efforts will help improve patient outcomes and ensure that all patients receive the best possible care, which contributes to alleviating the ongoing suffering of the population in Gaza.
For his part, Dr. Khalid Abdel-Hadi, Delegated Member and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at HH Sheikh Hamad Hospital, said: “This initiative is the result of fruitful cooperation and efforts aimed at improving health care and providing high-quality services to patients in the region.”
