Dr. Ashfaq Patel is a Senior Consultant Cardiologist at the Heart Hospital, Hamad Medical Corporation. He is the Director of the Coronary Care Unit and a member of the Advanced Heart Failure program at the Heart Hospital. He is also an Assistant Professor in Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine - Qatar.
Dr. Patel completed his medical training at the 'Université Libre de Bruxelles' in Belgium in 1985. Thereafter he underwent specialty training in Internal Medicine in the UK and obtained the MRCP degree from the Royal College of Physicians of London in 1989, following which he pursued subspecialty training in Cardiology.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (UK), Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology as well as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
He is involved in teaching medical students, internal medical residents as well as Cardiology fellows with a special interest in ECG interpretation. He practices General Clinical Cardiology with focused interest in Acute Heart Failure.
