Health systems improvement expert with over 30 years of dedication to public service and patient care, successfully led large-scale programs that drive transformational change in healthcare organizations, resulting in enhanced clinical outcomes. Has initiated various systems improvement and patient safety initiatives, including Infection Control, Risk Management, Patient Experience, and Hospital Quality Programs.

Khawla has been instrumental in developing strategic plans at the organizational level, designing quality structures, and preparing healthcare organizations for accreditation. She has also created and led numerous academic programs, including the master's degree in public health - Health Systems Improvement at Qatar University.

Currently, Khawla serves as the Acting Assistant Executive Director at the Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute within HMC, where she drives capacity building and capability development across Qatar. Additionally, she leads various improvement collaboratives and programs aimed at designing, redesigning, and implementing effective, efficient, and safe solutions to support improvement initiatives both at HMC and nationwide"
