Ms. Marya Ibrahim Mohamed brings over 15 years of expertise in transfusion medicine and laboratory management, demonstrating exceptional leadership in quality improvement, compliance, and education. Currently serving as the Laboratory Supervisor of Transfusion Medicine Laboratories at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in Qatar, she oversees operations for one of the country’s busiest laboratories with most complicated rare, cases, supporting five facilities. Her role involves directing renovations of laboratory spaces, maintaining accreditations (AABB, CAP, JCI, MOPH), and spearheading quality initiatives to ensure excellence in patient care.

Ms. Mohamed is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree through one of California’s universities, enhancing her expertise in leadership and organizational management. She holds Specialties in Blood Banking certifications SBB, from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), including both national and international specialty credentials.

Ms. Mohamed is a member of CAP, ISBT, AABB, and ASCP and actively participates in the AABB Transfusion Medicine & Donors (TM) seven sections committees as well as three AABB Cell Therapy (CT) sections committees. She is also an AABB assessor and a CAP inspector.

In addition to her operational responsibilities, Ms. Mohamed is an adjunct instructor at Qatar University’s College of Health Sciences, where she educates future biomedical professionals. Her academic contributions are complemented by active projective and research engagements. 

With a strong foundation in regulatory compliance, innovation, and education, Ms. Mohamed continues to advance the field of transfusion medicine, combining her technical acumen with a commitment to improving healthcare delivery systems.
