Salha Bujassoum Al Bader

Dr. Salha obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 1992. Finished post-graduate studies in Canada and received the Specialty Certificate in Internal Medicine / Hematology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Toronto-Canada in 2000. Obtained additional certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine / Clinical Hematology and Medical Oncology, Toronto, Canada in 2000 / 2001 / 2004. And her most recently obtained Master of Molecular Oncology: Molecular Basis of Cancer 2019-2020.

She is a member of international groups such as ESMO, ASCO, and IARC Scientific Council. She served on HMC committees including Hospital Research Committee and Qatar Medical Board Committee. Her research activities focused on breast, gynaecological malignancy, and cancer genetics. She has active grants from QNRF and an author for several publications and guidelines. She established ACGME-I Accredited Medical Oncology Fellowship. She is the founder of hospital based Standard Risk Breast Cancer Screening in 2008, Hereditary Cancer Genetic Program in 2013, and Breast Tumour Board in 2005.

In addition, she is holding multiple positions in HMC such as:

  • Chair of Organizing Committee of Annual Qatar Breast Cancer Conference
  • Lead of National Clinical Advisory Board of Qatar Breast Cancer
  • Director of Cancer Genetics
  • Assistant Chair of HMC Precision Medicine Committee
  • Lead of Clinical Advisory for Cerner Oncology Solution Implementation Team 2015
  • Clinical Lead with UHN–HMC collaboration breast site 2016.

In recognition of her effort in improving patient care, she received the 6 “HMC Stars of Excellence” Award in last 6 consecutive years.
