Wafa Abualainin

Dr. Wafa Abualainin works as head of a section for solid tumors in the Diagnostic Genomics Division, DLMP-HMC. She has several years of working experience in molecular genetics since 2004, followed by completing her Ph.D. in cancer studies from the School of Medicine, University of Liverpool, United Kingdom 2014. Her experience enables her to apply advanced genomic technologies to diagnostics very successfully. In a brief period, Dr. Wafa established a new discipline in the genomic division, the Molecular Testing of multiple solid tumors. This diagnostic service constitutes a clear step toward precision medicine and is being offered for the first time in Qatar. Availability of in-house diagnostic service helped and has a significant impact on health care and personalized management of cancer patients.
