​​Dr. Emanuele Angelucci, Hematology and Cellular Therapy Unit Chair, “Alberto Marmont” Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program Chair, IRCCS Ospedale Policlinico San Martino, Genova, Italy

Dr. Emanuele Angelucci holds a Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Bologna. Between 2017 to 2024, he was the Deputy President of the Italian Society of Hematology, and currently serves as the President of Education Committee of the Italian Society of Hematology.

 Dr. Angelucci has fellowships in General Hematology (1987), Clinical Oncology (1990) and Internal Medicine (1995) from the University of Ancona. He is also a visiting fellow at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle, WA. Director ED Thomas. 1987 

Dr. Angelucci serves as director of the Hematology and Cellular Therapies Unit, the Department of Oncology and Hematology and the “Alberto Marmont” Transplant Program at IRCCS Ospedale Policlinico San Martino, Genoa.

He is currently Chair of the Working Party on haemoglobinopathies of the European Group for Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (EBMT) and author of the EBMT/EHA guidelines for gene therapy in haemoglobinopathies. 

He has published over 404 scientific papers in indexed journals (Hindex 69 – Scopus May 2025) particularly in the field of hematopoietic cell transplantation in neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases and problems related to iron overload and toxicity (Lancet 1992, N Engl J Med 2000, Blood 1997, Blood 2002, Ann Intern Med 2002, Ann Inter Med 2020, Blood 2025).

In the field of hematopoietic cell transplantation, he is co-author of the main studies published since the preliminary experiences (N Engl J Med 1987, 1990, 1993, 2000 and 2021, Lancet 1985 and 1993, Ann Inter Med 2002, Blood 1997, Haematologica 2014).
