Mr. Martin Reeve, United Kingdom Accreditation Service
Mr. Martin Reeve is the Healthcare Operations Accreditation Specialist at the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). He has worked at UKAS for over 16 years, starting as an Assessment Manager and a Microbiology Technical Assessor, assessing testing laboratories for compliance with both ISO/IEC 17025 & ISO 15189:2012 and inspection bodies to ISO/IEC 17020.
Prior to joining UKAS, Mr. Reeve was a practicing Microbiologist, and together with subsequent roles within Quality departments in the UK for 15 years, has a strong focus on quality assurance, compliance and the effectiveness of quality management systems and their ongoing improvement.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Reeve was involved in the accreditation of new COVID-19 testing and sampling services across the UK, ensuring the services complied with legal requirements for service delivery and both ISO/IEC 17025 & ISO 15189:2012 accreditation.
In his current role, he leads on operational delivery and oversight, including stakeholder engagement across the Healthcare sector in the UK, covering areas such as physiological science services, imaging services and medical laboratory services.
Mr. Reeve is currently responsible for medical laboratories in their transition from ISO 15189:2012 to ISO 15189:2022 within UKAS. He has previously represented UKAS on several national Accreditation and Standardisation committees in a microbiology capacity.
