Dr. Ali Toffaha, MD
Dr. Ali Toffaha is a colorectal surgery fellow at Hamad Medical Corporation. He graduated from An-Najah National university in Palestine as the top student of his faculty, a few months after his internship in Palestine, he joined HMC general surgery residency program.
During his surgical experience, he has done numerous procedures from minor cases to most complex GI and oncological operations. Moreover, he previously scored the highest in the American in training exam (ABSITE) every year for the five years of residency (99th percentile). He has given many presentations in national and international conferences (regional as well as in USA and Europe). He has won many awards including the 1st place of regional American college of surgeons (ACS) surgical jeopardy contest in Oman, the 3rd best innovative research idea at tenth surgical research symposium in Qatar, academic excellence award and the best case-presentation in Austria, Excellence in Medical Education Award at HMC, and the best international abstract presented in Oncosurgpal22 in Palestine. In his last year of residency, he was elected as the chief resident and for all his academic achievements, he was chosen as best surgical resident.
After residency, Dr Toffaha passed Arab Board written exam with highest score among all examinees.
Currently Dr. Toffaha is pursuing his interest in colorectal surgery, he also has special interest in research and teaching, where he had many publications in peer reviewed journals. Additionally, he delivers lectures for Qatar University medical students and is the current director for basic surgical skills course there.
