Dr. Hamed Al Sinawi is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist at the Department of Behavioural Medicine at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital and chairman of Oman Alzheimer Society in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.
Dr Hamed is a certified as senior Consultant Psychiatrist (adults and old age Psychiatrist). He has a special interest in elderly mental health and Alzheimer's disease. Dr Hamed did his post graduate training in the UK, with a special interest in Alzheimer's Disease, and completed his fellowship in old age Psychiatry. He established the memory clinic at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital since 2011 and has several research projects in mental health.
He also gives workshops in counseling, communications skills and mental health at work, and he conducts regular workshop to primary health care doctors and Nurse on Dementia along with public awareness presentation to volunteers working with the Elderly in Oman.
Dr. Al Sinawi research interest is in the area of Mental health stigma, depression, dementia, caregivers' burden.
