Dr. Salahddin Gehani
Senior consultant surgeon and Head of Breast surgery unit HMC
Dr. Salahddin Gehani is currently a senior consultant surgeon and Head of the Breast surgery unit at HMC; he is also the General Surgery Residency Program Director and Vice Chair of the Residency Review Committee at ACGME-International-Chicago.
He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Tripoli –Libya. He had his initial surgical training in the Tripoli teaching hospitals and subsequently pursued further surgical training in the UK.
He obtained a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and continued in higher surgical training in general and breast surgery.
His research projects pursue MSc and MD degrees at the University College London. His first benchmark research was entitled (Hepatic Microcirculation using laser Doppler Flowmetry). The second project looked at (Angiogenesis and bone metastasis in Breast cancer patients).
Currently, he is involved in many research projects in HMC and collaborates closely with Sidra Medicine and Weil Cornell Medicine – Qatar. He is part of a panel of reviewers in the Medical Research Center at HMC.
