Dr. Naser Al Ansari graduated from medical school from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1990. After one year of internship in Beaumont Hospital Dublin, he started his training in Medical Microbiology in Ireland for three years followed by one year of Master’s degree in London, then five years training as specialist registrar in medical microbiology in Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge in the UK.
He obtained his master’s degree in Medical Microbiology from London School of Tropical Medicine in 1995 and membership of Royal Collage of Pathologists, UK in 2001. Since March 2020, he was appointed as the Chair of Infection Control Committee in Hazm Mbaireek Hospital to advise and manage COVID pandemic. He was also supervising all COVID related issues in Mesaieed Hospital, Ras Laffan and the Cuban Hospital and acted as a link with the Corporate SWICC under the leadership of Dr. Saad Al Kaabi.
Currently, he is a Consultant in Medical Microbiologist & the Infection Control in Al Wakra Hospital. In addition, he is the chairman of Research & Education Committee for Al Wakra Hospital.
In addition to his corporate role as the Chairman of Infection Control Committee, together with his team and colleagues, they managed the pandemic, by boosting the infection control manpower, advising on the expanded patient care areas in the field hospitals (patient flow, negative pressure rooms for swabbing, medication room, clean and dirty utility rooms, donning and doffing rooms, barriers, PPE, etc.).
