Jay-Sheree Allen Akambase

Jay-Sheree Allen Akambase, MD, MPH is a preventive medicine physician at Mayo Clinic dedicated to advancing disease prevention, health promotion, and long-term well-being for patients. She holds joint appointments in the Division of Public Health, Infectious Diseases, and Occupational Medicine, and in General Internal Medicine, where her practice centers on comprehensive health assessments and personalized, evidence-based strategies to help individuals optimize their health. She holds the academic rank of Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.

Dr. Akambase serves as President of the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation Board of Trustees, leading strategic efforts to advance humanitarian, educational, and scientific initiatives that improve community and population health.

Her scholarly work focuses on occupational mental health, preventive care and population health through a health equity lens as well as leadership development for women and underrepresented minorities in medicine. As an advocate for public health communication, she frequently contributes to national media, translating complex medical evidence into clear, actionable information for the public.
