Ms. Mariam Nooh Al Mutawa

Ms. Al Mutawa has been the Acting Chief Nursing Officer at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) since 2020. She oversees the Corporate Nursing and Midwifery division of HMC and is a member of the corporation’s Chief leadership group. Through her nursing and midwifery executive team leaders, Mariam manages a multinational workforce of over 11,000 nurses and midwives, working in various roles across numerous healthcare facilities within HMC in Qatar.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was the HMC nursing lead of the System Wide Incident Command Committee (SWICC). She continues as HMC Tactical Command Group (TCG) Nursing Lead for COVID-19 management efforts. She also was the nursing lead for the Tactical Command Group involved in the 2022 World Cup 2022 – FIFA healthcare efforts in Qatar.
Mariam has over 26 years of nursing experience, a decade of which has been in leadership roles. She is passionate about developing staff, especially young Qatari nurses. As a mentor for the Nagwa program, she actively mentors many national leaders, not only nurses, in their career development, believing they are the future of the nation’s healthcare services, supporting the residents, and building the capacity of Qatar Nursing and Midwifery workforce.
Previous roles include leading Outpatient Department Reviews and strategic Value Improvement programs. Mariam has also been a Director of Nursing for the HMC-SickKids Partnership Project, where she led various initiatives, including Pediatric Nursing Education and Director of Nursing in the HMC – SIDRA Joint Affiliation Office, supporting the implementation of the ‘one program, multiple institutions’ initiative across both organizations. Ms. Al-Mutawa is a board member of the Nursing Now – Qatar initiative. She presented Qatari Nurses at national, regional, and international events and was the first Qatari Nursing Executive to join the Qatar Leadership Center in their Executive Leadership program.
