Professor Alfredo Saggioro, M.D. (Italy)
Dr. Saggioro is a professor of medicine and gastroenterology. He graduated at Paduva University Medical School and specialized in internal medicine in Paduva and gastroenterology at “La Sapenza” University in Rome, trained with Sir Francis Avery Jones at Central Middlesex Hospital in London, UK and with Tatsuzo Kasugai at Aichi Cancer Center in Nagoya, Japan also completing the Postgraduate Gastroenterology Course at the British Postgraduate Medical Federation. His interests are mainly in peptic ulcer disease, endoscopic aggressive therapy and liver cirrhosis. In the last few years he has begun to interest himself in clinical nutrition, autonomic nervous system function and functional medicine. Professor Saggioro is an active member of many professional societies and has published more than 400 articles, abstracts and book chapters.
