
Dr. Azhar Othman Al Rawwas
Senior Consultant, Pediatrics, Qatar Rehabilitation Institute
Dr. Azhar Khattab is a Senior Consultant in Pediatric Rehabilitation at HMC’s Qatar Rehabilitation Institute (QRI) as well as an Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medicine - Qatar.
He is currently the Clinical Lead of the Outpatient and Inpatient Intensive Rehabilitation Program for Spinal Muscular Atrophy patients post gene therapy. He is also the lead of the Hypertonia Clinic for botulism toxin Injections for pediatric patients with spasticity and sialorrhea. Additionally, he is currently leading the implementation of pediatric 3D gait analysis pedography in QRI.
He has published many peer-reviewed articles in local and international journals, with a focus on pediatric rehabilitation and development. He has recently co-authored two book chapters on autism spectrum disorder management.
In addition to pediatric rehabilitation, his other areas of interest include traumatic brain injury, developmental and behavioral consequences of prematurity, autism spectrum disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
