Mr. Anas Saleem Ahmad Al-Hiary, MLT, ASCP, ISP 

Mr. Anas Al Hiary graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Sanaa University, Yemen, in 1999. He subsequently received his training in Medical Laboratory and Pathology at Amman Surgical Hospital (Amman, Jordan) and Al-Hussain Hospital (Salt, Jordan).

In 2000, Mr. Al Hiary was appointed as a Laboratory Technologist at the Amman Surgical Hospital Laboratory, where he was responsible for processing laboratory specimens across various sections. Over time, he advanced into several senior roles within the Department of Laboratory and Pathology Medicine.

From 2005 to 2017, he served as Supervisor of Preanalytical Services and Clinical Lecturer at Saad Specialist Hospital in Khobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He was later appointed as Preanalytical Services Manager at the International Medical Center (IMC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from 2017 to 2019. In this role, he led multiple preanalytical service areas, including phlebotomy, Specimen receiving and processing, transportation and handling, financial and insurance services, and specimen referral. He also co-led the training programs for laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, and receptionists, and played a key role in the education and training of national technicians, nurses, and biomedical technologists.

At a national level, Mr. Al Hiary served as both an external and internal advisor and inspector for the College of American Pathologists (CAP) from 2006 to 2019. He participated in inspections and assessments related to general and preanalytical services, contributing to the accreditation of several hospitals in Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

In July 2019, Mr. Al Hiary joined Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in Qatar as a Senior Technologist and Acting Supervisor. Since then, he has assumed various senior and supervisory roles in central specimen receiving and processing area, phlebotomy services, and DLMP corporate specimen transportation. He played a pivotal leadership role during the COVID-19 pandemic, leading multiple initiatives within HMC’s preanalytical services.

Currently, he is serving as the Acting Corporate Supervisor for Preanalytical Services in HMC's peripheral hospitals, including PEC Al Sadd, AKH, AWH, HMGH, TCH, and AAH. He also represents the division in several key committees, including the DLMP Quality Improvement and safety.
