Dr. Atqah abdulwahab

Dr. Atqah currently serves as the Director of the Multidisciplinary Pediatric Aerodigestive Clinic at Sidra Medicine and plays a pivotal role in overseeing fellows' and residents' educational activities in the pediatric pulmonology division. Her groundbreaking contributions include being the first pediatric pulmonologist to identify the CF gene in Qatari cystic fibrosis patients and discovering a new type of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome associated with arterial tortuosity.

Dr. Atqah has a rich history of establishing crucial medical facilities, including CF clinics, a CF microbiology laboratory, and the sweat chloride test in biochemistry at HMC. She initiated the MDT Pediatric Aerodigestive Clinic at Sidra Medicine in January 2019.

With active participation in key international conferences like the American Thoracic Society (ATS), European Respiratory Society (ERS), and the European Cystic Fibrosis Society (ECFS), Dr. Atqah has presented oral papers and scientific posters. 

Her extensive research portfolio includes over 55 scientific publications in local and peer-reviewed journals, focusing on cystic fibrosis and asthma. As a respected reviewer for national and international medical journals, Dr. Atqah continues to contribute significantly to pediatric pulmonology.
