Dr. S M Wasim Jamal is a Pulmonology and Internal Medicine Department Senior Consultant at Hamad Medical Corporation. After graduating from Khyber Medical College, University of Peshawar, Pakistan, in 2001, Dr. Jamal pursued his core medical training in the UK, completing his specialist training in Pulmonology and Internal Medicine in the Southwest of England in 2014. 

Subsequently, he assumed the Consultant in Respiratory and Internal Medicine role at Barnsley General Hospital, NHS Foundation Trust, UK, before joining Hazm Mebaireek Hospital HMC as a Consultant Pulmonologist in 2018.

 In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Jamal has made substantial contributions to Medical Education, Quality Improvement Projects, Service Development, Management, and Research Initiatives in the UK and the Middle East. 

He is particularly interested in Interventional Pulmonology, Lung Cancer, and Medical Education. He is also Co-Chair of the CPG Committee HMGH supporting work on clinical practice guidelines and statements. 

Dr. Jamal has held academic positions, including Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield, UK, and is currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, Qatar.  

Dr. Jamal has several peer-reviewed journal publications and is affiliated with prestigious academic institutions, including fellowships with the Royal College of Physicians in London and the American College of Chest Physicians.
