Enaya & Daam Specialized Care Center held a memorable Person-Centered Care (PCC) Roadshow on 5–6 November 2024, at the garden behind Enaya and Daam's buildings. This outdoor event celebrated the facility’s dedication to person-centered care through meaningful interactions with patients, caregivers, families, and staff, promoting a deeper understanding of PCC principles.
The roadshow ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. Hanadi Khamis Al Hamad, Deputy Chief for Long Term Care, Rehabilitation and Geriatric Care, and Medical Director of Rumailah Hospital and Qatar Rehabilitation Institute. Dr. Hanadi warmly welcomed all participants and acknowledged the invaluable contributions of their staff, caregivers, patients, and family members. Her message emphasized the facility’s commitment to listening to patients’ voices and actively engaging them in their care journey, demonstrating the core values of person-centered care.
A highlight of the event was a heartfelt message from Mr. Fahd Al-Qadi, a Qatari family member of one of Enaya and Daam’s patients and Chairperson of the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC). Mr. Fahd expressed his deep gratitude to the staff, acknowledging their efforts to incorporate patient and family perspectives into organizational decisions. This message resonated deeply with attendees, showing the importance of the PFAC’s role in enhancing care through collaboration and shared experiences.
Adding to these inspiring messages, Mr. Nasser Al Naimi, HMC’s Chief of Patient Experience and Director of Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute, spoke about the PCC Program at HMC, a visionary initiative dedicated to enhancing patient experience. Mr. Nasser recognized the collaboration and support among the PCC sites, which he described as instrumental in transforming HMC into a person-centered organization. “This spirit of collaboration,” he noted, “is a demonstration to the profound impact that PCC has made across HMC.”
To commemorate the event, a cake-cutting ceremony was held, symbolizing the collective commitment to person-centered care. Enaya and Daam’s PFAC members also shared valuable insights on improving services, reinforcing the center’s commitment to co-designing care initiatives. In line with this collaborative approach, Enaya and Daam took the opportunity to launch three new PCC initiatives co-designed with their PFAC members: the Cafeteria, Dental Lounge, and Staff Lounge, each aimed at enhancing patient and staff experiences.
The PCC Roadshow at Enaya & Daam Specialized Care Center featured various interactive activities at tables dedicated to each PCC Driver. These activities were designed to engage participants in fun ways while learning about PCC principles. The event also highlighted patient education materials co-developed with the PFAC, further reinforcing their commitment to person-centered communication and education.
The next PCC Roadshow will continue at the Communicable Disease Center from 11 to 12 November 2024, between 9 AM and 2 PM. For more details on upcoming PCC events, please visit the PCC Events page at: https://www.hamad.qa/EN/About-Us/PCC/Events/Pages/default.aspx
