
Dr. Dina Abushanab, PhD, MSc, BCPS, BPharm
Drug Information Pharmacist
Dr. Dina Abushanab is a Drug Information Pharmacist and Health Economist & Outcomes Research Lead at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar, where she leads work in, drug information, Pharmacoeconomics, health economics, and evidence-based decision support. She completed her PhD at Monash University, focusing on modeling the health and economic burden of chronic disease.
Dr. Abushanab has published more than 60 full-text articles and is actively engaged in advancing Qatar’s Health Technology Assessment (HTA) framework through national committees and research programs. Her work spans health economic evaluations, clinical outcomes research, and meta-analyses.
She also is an invited clinical lecturer at Qatar University and contributes to international collaborations. She is passionate about capacity building, applied modeling, and translating research into meaningful policy and healthcare decisions. Her current interests include strengthening national data infrastructure and developing context-specific value frameworks to guide formulary decisions, resource allocation, and sustainable health system planning.
