Clinical Pharmacy Specialist Lead, Anticoagulation Service

Dr. Osama Abdelsamad is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist with over 20 years of diverse experience across cardiology, anticoagulation, intensive care, nephrology, surgery, and hospital pharmacy practice. 
He holds an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy from Queen’s University Belfast and advanced certification in anticoagulation management. 
As the Lead of the Anticoagulation Service at Al Wakra Hospital, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), he has pioneered major initiatives, including establishing Qatar’s first pharmacist-managed anticoagulation clinic, earning multiple Star of Excellence awards. 
Dr. Abdelsamad also coordinates the Anticoagulation Committee and Anticoagulation Stewardship Program and has contributed to developing several local evidence-based guidelines. 
He is an active educator and PGY1 preceptor, he has a strong research portfolio in anticoagulation and thrombosis, with internationally published work reflecting his commitment to advancing patient safety and clinical excellence.
