Professor Zaheer Babar is a Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Practice at the College of Pharmacy, Qatar University, and a Visiting Professor at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom. 
His previous roles include serving as a Professor in Medicines and Healthcare and Director of the Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice Research Centre at the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom (2017–2023), as well as Head of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Auckland, New Zealand (2007–2016). 
He is widely recognized for his contributions to pharmaceutical policy and practice, particularly in the areas of quality use of medicines, medicine access, and pricing. 
Professor Babar has authored over 360 papers and is considered a leading researcher in the field of pharmaceutical policy, as evidenced by his rankings in Google Scholar and Scopus. 
He is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice, a high-impact publication that provides evidence-based insights and recommendations for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers.
