Dr. Wael Khalaf is a Senior Consultant in Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine with over 20 years of clinical experience. He joined Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in 2020 and currently serves as the Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Hamad General Hospital. Dr. Khalaf graduated from the University of Manchester, UK, and initially trained in Internal Medicine before specializing in Anesthesia, where he developed a strong interest in critical care. In the UK, he held several leadership roles, including Clinical Director of the ICU and Deputy Clinical Director of Anesthesia at Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Foundation Trust. Dr. Khalaf is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care and fostering collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Known for his approachable leadership, he focuses on improving patient outcomes through data analysis and quality initiatives in perioperative medicine and intensive care.
