Cynthia A. Baldwin, MS, RN, CPHRM - Senior Associate Department of Pediatrics and School of Nursing; Faculty, Vanderbilt Center for Patient and Professional Advocacy.

 Ms. Baldwin received her graduate degree at South Dakota State University and is currently pursuing her doctorate in nursing. Ms. Baldwin is the newest faculty member to the CPPA, beginning in February 2020. She has more than 32 years of nursing, safety and leadership experience. Prior to joining the Vanderbilt faculty, she worked at Sanford Health as the Senior Executive Director for Clinical Risk and Patient Safety for 10 years where she oversaw all aspects of emergency preparedness and public safety, clinical risk, patient relations, and portions of accreditation readiness. Previously, Ms. Baldwin was instrumental in helping Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls become the first American College of Surgeons verified pediatric and adult Level II trauma center in the region, as well as lobbying and supporting the passage of the state of South Dakota Trauma System legislation. She has also practiced as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and in adult critical care.
