Mukta Panda is an award-winning physician, speaker, educator, facilitator, leader and author whose work seeks to transform the heart of healthcare organizations, patient care and medical education. Prior to her role as Regional Dean Morehouse School of Medicine Chattanooga, she served as a CLER field representative at the ACGME and Professor of Medicine and the Assistant Dean for Well-Being and Medical Student Education at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. Dr. Panda is a Master of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London, for her significant contributions across teaching, clinical research, preventive medicine, healthcare delivery enhancements and health care professional well-being and fulfillment. Her influence extends globally, nationally, regionally, and locally, focusing on educational methodologies, curriculum development, health and well-being, fatigue and burnout prevention among healthcare professionals, spirituality, and empathy in healthcare. Dr. Panda also holds key leadership roles internationally, nationally, and locally, contributing profoundly to these areas. As a trained facilitator and coach, she co-facilitates impactful events like the ACGME Courage to Teach and Lead retreats, alongside regular retreats and peer coaching sessions for healthcare professionals and trainees. Her authored works, including the award-winning book 'Resilient Threads: Weaving Joy and Meaning into Well-Being', emphasize educational development, spirituality in medicine, fatigue and stress management, and fostering psychological safety and trust within healthcare settings. She has coauthored two reflective and motivational books, Rhythm of Our Hearts and Reflections of the Heart, with her father, Dr. Shyam Parashar, a retired surgeon.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Panda cherishes roles as a mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend. She finds renewal in long walks, cooking Indian cuisine, and organizing surprise gatherings for loved ones, embodying a holistic approach to life and well-being that resonates throughout her professional endeavors and personal pursuits
