Bridging the Gap: Advancing Health Literacy to Enhance Employee Wellbeing and Workplace Productivity
Ms. Al Farsi is a passionate advocate for health literacy and patient empowerment, bringing a wealth of expertise and dedication to her role as a certified Health Literacy Specialist. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from Jordan University of Science and Technology and served as a physiotherapist at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and Ehsan from 2000 to 2012. Building on her clinical foundation, she pursued a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a Post-Diploma Certificate in Patient Education from the College of the North Atlantic, Qatar.
Currently, Ms. Al Farsi leads the Health and Wellness Education Department at Sidra Medicine, where she oversees three dynamic portfolios: Health Literacy, Patient and Family Education and Health Promotion. Her innovative approach has been pivotal in shaping Sidra Medicine’s Health Literacy Program, which features impactful initiatives such as the Annual Health Literacy Conference and monthly educational workshops designed to equip healthcare providers - both clinical and non-clinical - with the tools to enhance patient care.
As a member of the Health LiteracyFramework Task Force and the Cancer Awareness Group under Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health, Ms. Al Farsi continues to champion initiatives that bridge gaps in healthcare communication, empowering patients and families to take an active role in their health journeys. Her leadership and commitment leave a lasting impact on the community and healthcare sector alike."
