
Dr. Samya Ahmad Al Abdulla
Enhancing Employee Well-being in Primary Care Settings: The Role of Organisational Support and Peer Programs
Dr. Samya Ahmad Al Abdulla is Senior Consultant of Family Medicine & Executive Director of Operations at Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) and Deputy National Lead for Mental Health & Wellbeing in Qatar. She is also the Chairman of the Qatar Family & Community Medicine Society; Assistant Professor of Family Medicine in Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and a Clinical Associate Professor in Family Medicine at Qatar University.
Providing strategic oversight of 31 Health Centers, Dr. Samya has been instrumental in delivering innovative community health interventions, including PHCC’s New Health Center Program and population health screening in primary care to support the early identification and management of diabetes and other non-communicable diseases. Dr. Samya also led implementation of the Family Medicine Model across all PHCC health centers; the introduction of 24-hour adult and pediatric urgent care and Regional Specialist Centers which provide a range of integrated services such as cardiology, memory clinics, mental health clinics; allowing patients to receive care and treatment closer to their homes.
Dr. Samya's influence extends beyond operations, as she has authored/co-authored numerous publications on various topics including Covid-19, diabetes, non-communicable disease, mental health, epidemiological health and medication management.
