Dr. Rafa Mohamed Omer

Workplace Wellness: Building a Healthier Nation and a Stronger Economy

Dr. Rafa Omer is a community medicine specialist with over 10 years of experience in the field of public health. She currently works at the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar, where she leads efforts to promote workers’ health and prevent work related injuries and diseases. 

Her career spans various roles, including work with the Federal Ministry of Health and World Health Organization in Sudan, where she supported maternal, child and adolescent health, occupational health and disability, as well as expansion of primary health care services and the integration of NCDs, disability and mental health interventions into essential PHC packages. 

Dr. Omer holds a master’s degree in community medicine and certifications in occupational health and safety and project management. She is dedicated to improving public health through policy development, capacity building, health promotion and cross-sector collaboration.
