Senior Consultant Urologist & Transplant Surgeon
I received my M.B.Ch.B qualification from Baghdad University in 1996 and became a fellow of the Iraqi board of medical specialization in Urology (with special training in kidney transplantation) in 2004.
I joined HMC as urologist & transplant surgeon in 2005.
In 2010 I became a fellow of the European board of urology.
I had more training in kidney transplantation and multi-organ retrieval in Qatar, Essen University Clinic in Germany and Karoliniska University in Stockholm-Sweden.
I became a fellow of the European Board of Surgery {Kidney Transplantation and Multi-organ Retrieval in 2012} and achieved Diploma in laparoscopic surgery from the University of Strasbourg –France in the same year.
Thereafter I completed my fellowship training in Kidney - pancreatic transplant, and laparoscopic donor nephrectomy, from Western University in London, Ontario, Canada.
I am working now as a Senior Consultant in Urology & Transplant surgeon, Surgical Director of the kidney transplant program and Deputy section head of organ transplantation, Hamad General Hospital.
In addition, I work as a senior consultant urologist at the Urology Section in Al Wakra Hospital.
I am a core faculty member in urology department at Hamad Medical Corporation for ACGME-I.
I am also an associate professor of clinical urology and the surgical Clerkship director for urology in Al Wakra Hospital for Qatar university – college of medicine.
I had several papers which had been published in regional and international journals in the field of transplantation and urology.
I am also an active reviewer for journals (such as BMJ Case Report and Transplant International Journal) and have been invited speaker/presented at numerous conferences / workshops in field of urology & organ transplantation .
