Dr. Jassim Fakhro is a distinguished leading surgeon with more than 10 years clinical experience as consultant general, metabolic, bariatric and robotic surgeon. Dr. Jassim graduated from the Arabian Gulf University at the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2003.
In 2016, he joined back at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) after finishing his high specialty training from Geneva University where he obtained his Master of Advanced Studies in Visceral Surgery with honor and followed by double fellowship in bariatric surgery and robotic surgery.
Currently, he is the vice president of the Gulf Obesity Surgery Society (GOSS). In 2022, he was recognized by HMC as the best surgeon of the year. He has an interest in innovative minimal invasive surgery where he developed new approaches in laparoscopic techniques and the use the smallest instruments in the world to perform bariatric surgeries.
Also, he did the first robotic RYGB in the Middle East in 2013 and the first robotic sleeve gastrectomy on a patient with situs inverses totals in the world in 2022. He has interest in adolescent and pediatric bariatric surgery and revisional bariatric surgery.
