Cigdem Ozkara MD, Prof

Dr. Ozkara graduated from Bursa, Uludag University, Medical Faculty in 1984 and completed neurology training in Bakirkoy State Hospital for Neurological and Psychiatric disorders in 1991. After receiving William G. Lennox International Clinical Research Fellowship provided by Epilepsy Foundation of America (EFA), she worked in University of Virginia, Comprehensive Epilepsy Center in 1991-92. She later visited UCLA-Epilepsy center in 1996. She achieved the associate professorship in 1996 and full professorship in 2002. Since then, she started working at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Cerrahpasa Medical School, Department of Neurology, Division of Clinical Electrophysiology, Epilepsy - EEG section and running an epilepsy outpatient clinic and Epilepsy Surgery program.  

She served for Turkish Epilepsy Society as secretary and president and ILAE as a member of different commissions and secretary for European commission. She was awarded as “ambassador for epilepsy“ in 2009 by ILAE and IBE. She is currently a member of ILAE education commission and tutor at VIREPA and serves at editorial board of international and national journals.
