
Professor Ramzi M Mohammad
Director of Translational Research Institute (TRI)
As a long-term director of GI-Cancer Research at Wayne State University, Michigan int he United states, Prof. Mohammad has more than 30 years of extensive experience in physiology, cancer biology, animal models, tissue culture and statistical analysis.
He has published more than 180 peer-reviewed research papers and brought more than 42 million dollars in funded grants. He has also established a number of cancer cell lines and unique xenograft models, which he uses them in testing and studying effects of new anticancer agents, natural and marine products as well as targeted therapy.
Throughout his career as a translational researcher Professor Ramzi introduced more than eight new drugs into the clinic against cancer and diabetes.
His main focus as the director of Translational Research Institute is to foster collaboration between basic researchers and clinicians to establish strong translational research program in Hamad Medical Corporation.
