Mr. Bassam Jarrar is a Senior Public Health Advisor with the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. For the first 10 years of his 30-year career at CDC, he worked in the field and had several State assignments. At CDC headquarters, Mr. Jarrar has been in global health working on workforce and institution development with special focus on strengthening global field epidemiologic capacity. During his career at CDC, Mr. Jarrar held many leadership positions including State Program Manager, team lead, Division Deputy Director and Division Acting Director. Currently, he is a senior advisor responsible for the strengthening and implementation of FETPs in the EMRO, Central Asia and Southeast Asia regions.
