Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is the only specialized center in Qatar that has a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The Pediatric Surgery Department in HMC manages all pediatric surgical cases (thoracic, abdominal, urological) from newborns through to the age of 14 years, which includes congenital anomalies, tumors and trauma. Therefore our work involves and requires communication with all pediatric specialized medical departments in HMC and other hospitals, including private hospitals, whenever pediatric surgical services are required.
The aim of our department is to provide the best possible care for all children aged 14 and under and also perinatal care for infants with diagnosed neonatal congenital anomalies. We seek continuous patient and staff satisfaction feedback to ensure this care is delivered to the highest standards and ensure that the service we offer is safe and confidential. The department attends to approximately 200 patients per month.
