​Dr. Kakil Ibrahim Rasul is a distinguished senior consultant in Hematology and Oncology at the National Center for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR), Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Doha, Qatar. He also serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar.

Dr. Rasul earned his M.B.Ch.B. Degree from the College of Medicine, University of Mosul in 1978. He went on to obtain the Certificate of the Arab Board for Medical Specialization (C.A.B.M.) in Baghdad, Iraq, in 1989. In 2000, he was awarded membership of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (MRCP, UK), followed by fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP, UK) in 2004. He also holds certification from the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), initially earned in 2004 and successfully recertified in 2009.

At HMC, Dr. Rasul leads the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Multidisciplinary Team and is a core member of the Gastrointestinal Multidisciplinary Team. He actively contributes to international guideline development as a core member of the MENA-NCCN panels for colorectal and hepatobiliary cancers. Beyond his clinical responsibilities, he plays a vital role in academic and professional circles as an editorial board member of the World Journal of Oncology Research, Advances in Modern Oncology Research Journal, and the Journal of Hepatology Research. He also serves as a peer reviewer for several prestigious journals, including the British Journal of Medicine Research, Saudi Medical Journal, Annals of Saudi Medicine, and the Qatar Medical Journal.

A respected figure in the global oncology community, Dr. Rasul is an active member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). He is frequently invited to speak at regional and international conferences, where he shares his expertise on oncology and multidisciplinary cancer care.
Dr. Rasul has authored and co-authored over 100 articles in peer-reviewed international and regional journals, making significant contributions to advancements in oncology research and clinical practice.
