Dr. Salha obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 1992. Finished post-graduate studies in Canada and. received the Specialty Certificate in Internal Medicine/Hematology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Toronto, Canada in 2000. Obtain additional certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine/Clinical Hematology and Medical Oncology, Toronto, Canada, in 2000/2001/2004.

Appointed as a Consultant in Haematology/Oncology at Hamad General Hospital from February 2003 to 2005, I was subsequently promoted to Senior Consultant in Hematology/Oncology at NCCCR in 2005. She is a member of international oncology societies, including ESMO and ASCO, as well as the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) Scientific Council. She served on many HMC committees, including the hospital research committee, the medical education committee, and the QPS. Her research activities focused on breasts, gynaecological malignancy, and cancer genetics. She has multiple active grants from QNRF.

She has been authoring several publications and guidelines. Her primary research focus is on cancer, genetic breast, and gastrointestinal malignancy

She established multiple services unique to the cancer program. She has been Fellowship Program Director for Medical Oncology between 2011-till December 2020 and got ACGME-I Accreditation Medical Oncology Fellowship in 2016.

Dr. Salha is a founder of hospital-based standard breast cancer screening in 2008, before launching the national screening, and founder of hereditary cancer genetic program in 2013.
 
She is the lead of the clinical advisory team for the electronic medical records oncology solution implementation team, 2015. Redesigns medical oncology to different subspecialty teams and clinics
Established cardio-oncology program, onco-fertility preservation, in collaboration with Women's Hospital, and most recently established onco-geriatric clinical services and hospital and community-based survivorship program.

She has achieved outstanding success as the lead of the breast cancer program, including the establishment of the NCCCR.
Inter-professional Breast Site Model of Care for Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, and Allied Health.
In recognition of her effort in improving patient care, she received the 8-star excellence award and won three awards of appreciation for the Patient Experience Forum 2019 and 2024

In addition, she serves as chair of the organizing committee for the annual Qatar Breast Cancer Conference, which has been held annually in October for the past 10 consecutive years, alongside her active role in promoting public breast cancer awareness. Additionally, she has served as chair of the organizing committee for precision medicine for the past three years.
