Ayman El-Menyar, MBchB, MSc, MRCP, FRCP (Glasgow), FESC, FACC

Dr. Ayman El-Menyar is a Professor of Clinical Research in Trauma and Vascular Surgery in Hamad General Hospital & Associate Professor, Clinical Medicine, Weill Cornell Medical College since 2007. He is a Principal Research Scientist at HMC. He also worked as a cardiologist in the field of Clinical Cardiology from 1993 until June 2011. He is senior consultant cardiology, Egyptian Medical Syndicate. Dr. El-Menyar received his MBchB from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University (1989). He completed his internship at Cairo University and residency program at National Heart Institute (Cairo). He completed his master’s degree in Cardiology in May 1995 and Membership of the Royale College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2002 (England) and Diploma of Fellowship from Royal College of Glasgow (FRCP) in 2007. 

He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and European Society of Cardiology (FESC). He was working as Director of Clinical Research in Surgery in Westchester Medical Hospital and NY Medical College. Dr. El-Menyar has been involved in more than 350 research projects and was awarded the best publication at Hamad Medical Corporation on four occasions. He has authored and co-authored 400 peer reviewed articles and 150 international abstracts and 4 chapters in books. He is a mentor for medical students, residents, and fellows for many research projects. He has been awarded three NPRP grants from Qatar Foundation and four internal grants from HMC. 

He is a member of many international societies including: European Heart Rhythm Association, European Society of Cardiology / Acute Cardiac Care, Heart Gulf Association Society, Egyptian Society of Cardiology, Heart Failure Association, European Society of Cardiology, International Society of Heart Research (ISHR) (North America section), Society of Clinical Research Association (SOCRA), USA, Association for Inherited Cardiovascular Conditions (AICC), UK, European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS), Editorial Board of Case Reports in Vascular Medicine journal, peer-reviewers committee and IRB, Journal of Emergency, Trauma and Critical Care . He is also a reviewer for international journals and organizations (chest, annals internal medicine, American journal of cardiology, SMJ, Canadian medical association journal, QNRF (UREP), QNRF (SSREP), International Journal of Cardiology, Angiology).
