Dr. Kassim N S Alanee is Senior Consultant Anesthesiologist working at HMC for the last 16 years. He obtained DA in Anesthesia and FRCA from Royal College of Anesthetist in the UK in 1989. He obtained three Diplomas in Hyperbaric and Diving Medicine from USA. He has been practicing anesthesiology for the last 40 years.
Dr. Alanee is part of Bariatric and Metabolic surgery team since its inception in 2011 and has been anaesthetizing all complicated bariatric surgical procedures done at HMC hospitals. Before joining Bariatric surgery team, he took care of patients from all surgical specialties in HMC He actively participated in Transplant surgery, Trauma surgery, Scoliosis surgery, Pediatric and Neonatal surgery, Thoracic and he is the anesthetist started Robotic surgery. He started the hyperbaric and diving medicine in HMC 2011 and till now he involves in that services. Before joining HMC he worked for 4 years in UK and 24 years in Iraq.
He was the chairman of Anesthesia council from 1993 -2004. He is professor of anesthesia at Weill Cornell College of Medicine – Qatar from 2009 to present.
